Meet Shanequa Perry
Psychotherapist
Shanequa is from Brooklyn, NY. She graduated with a Master’s in Social Work from NYU Silver School of Social Work. Shanequa has worked in the Mental Health field for the past 8 years, assuming a number of different roles, with her most important as a Community Coordinator for the NYC Dept. of Health from 2017-2019. She has helped coordinate the training of over 200,000 New Yorkers
in the city’s Mental Health First Aid Initiative.
Shanequa has always been passionate about the field of Mental Health. It was her own early experience with therapy and High School Social Worker, a Black
Woman, that played pivotal roles in her life. This encouraged her to pursue the field of Social Work and ultimately become a therapist. She is devoted to helping
the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ identifying communities.
Shanequa understands that our lived experience influences our development and growth across the lifespan and the importance of the mind-body-soul connection.
She approaches the therapeutic space from a trauma-informed, somatic lens; helping individuals understanding anxiety, depression, life transitions, intergenerational and childhood trauma, how it shows up in the body and how to navigate the healing process in and out of therapy.
