Meet Tacha Fletcher
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, based in New York City, I am passionate about mental health and supporting others through their journey to wellness.
I have a deep understanding of the level of vulnerability that it takes to seek therapy. Therefore, my goal is to create a safe and nurturing atmosphere which allows you to delve deeper into your feelings of sadness, emptiness, loss, anxiety, worry, disconnect or maybe you are simply feeling stuck in life. With an emphasis on resilience, I promote wellness so that you are encouraged to rise to your full potential and engage life in meaningful ways.
I specialize in working with Black, Indigenous and Women of Color (BIWOC) to address depression and anxiety related symptoms, trauma, life and relationship transitions including but not limited to parenting, postpartum, career, and adjustment to chronic illness.
Using an eclectic approach, my treatment is warm, compassionate, collaborative and culturally attuned. I pride myself on the ability to bring in a fresh perspective into each session; leaving you feeling empowered and equipped with refined skills to heal. It is my hope to experience the same with you.
I have spent most of my work experience in various behavioral health settings including community-based organizations, outpatient mental health centers, and managed care organizations.
Outside of my clinical work, I am an avid advocate for adults and children with physical disabilities, children with special needs, black maternal and infant health, access to mental and physical health care for minority groups, and mothers in the workplace.
I enjoy traveling, cooking, and spending time with family.
